Policy and Frequently Asked Questions

Interpretation & Non English Commentaries

We pride ourselves on the level of knowledge our guides possess. Topics for discussion on our trips include the region’s geology, flora, fauna, conservation, Maori history and European history.

Interpretation is available in Japanese for guests wishing to take advantage of this - these groups will be hosted individually of our regular service. Minimum numbers apply. French speaking guides are also available.

Grading of the Walks

We have tried to grade walks to give an idea of their difficulty level. Please note these are subjective. Should you require further clarification, please contact us and we will fill you in on more details.

i Your health and safety is important to us - please be aware that we do need to know if there are any health or fitness issues which would affect your ability to complete any activity we offer.

Small Groups and Personalized trips

Each trip offers small groups, with at least one guide per 12 passengers. Our trips include transport from Te Anau, knowledgeable well equipped guide(s), lunch, tea or coffee and light snacks (unless indicated).
