Disembark and transfer to a mini bus, from here we drive up over the Beautiful Wilmot pass for views over Doubtful Sound in the West (above photo) and then descend down to Deep Cove, and our home for the night.
The MV Southern Secret.
Fiordland Cruises offer a unique combination of rugged remote sights and experiences from our well equipped home, the MV Southern Secret. The main deck boasts a spacious dining/living area and galley with huge windows for viewing the fiord, the upper deck, bow and stern are accessible for outside viewing.
The downstairs cabins are double, twin or triple each with their own ensuite bathroom and shower area.
All cruises are fully catered we provide all bedding/towels, picnic lunch, delicious evening meals and a light breakfast. Fishing lines are available and guests are welcome to bring their favourite fishing rod and gear if preferred. Fishing takes place outside of the marine reserves and we catch and release where possible as currently there is a moratorium on certain fish species. Common catches can include Blue Cod, Sea Perch, Terakahi, and school Groper.
Charter Cruises – Charter cruises are a great chance for you to get some like-minded individuals together and we will do the rest. This is a fantastic opportunity for fishermen hikers, divers, or scenic gourmets to come and explore Doubtful Sound for as long as desired.
Charter Fishing – Fiordland’s waters teem with a multitude of fish species and every cruise offers passengers a chance to dangle a line over the side and fish for your supper.
Activities onboard include: sightseeing, sea fishing and dolphin watching. Included is picnic lunch, evening meal, snacks and breakfast. Guests are welcome to bring alchohol refreshments aboard as they wish.
